Finding New Screens in a Recording

Scroll Prev Top Next More

As you build your application, additional Screen Workflow recordings can provide quick and easy importing of new screen definitions.

To quickly identify new screens in a recording:

1.Add a new screen element wherever you chose in the active tree view
2.Click on the Import button
3.Select the recording file you wish to find the new screen from
4.Look for any screen with a red title bar, which means the screen is unrecognized
5.Import the screen - if it has a name in the recording that fits your current naming scheme, you should try to name your new screen element the same as in the recording
6.Perform any recognition necessary to uniquely identify the screen

Alternative Method

1.From any screen in your active definitions, click on the Import Button
2.Select the recording file you are importing new screens from
3.Keep the screen import open
4.Open the Screen Workflow Viewer for the same recording file
5.For each screen with a red title bar in the import window, find that screen in the Recording Viewer, and generate the screen's XML with the individual generate button
6.Switch to text view in the Mapper and using the clipboard, paste the generated XML to create a new screen definition
7.Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each new screen you wish to support in the current definitions file
