If you are accessing the FVTerm application using Internet Explorer, this option is available. For other browsers the "Standard" option is assumed and no user control is necessary because these browsers do not support the ActiveX functionality this option addresses.
Unless there are specific application requirements in your environment that necessitates the use of the ActiveX control, the "Standard" option is recommended.

Javascript keyboard events are used to capture all function and special key presses possible and translated to Host keys (when mapped).
There are a few key combinations that may not work in this environment, depending on your version of Windows and Internet Explorer. If you find that a particular key combination is essential and it doesn't work under the Standard option, try the ActiveX option.
The Standard option is the default to avoid security issues typically found when ActiveX controls are to be included in a web page. |

A small ActiveX control will be installed the first time you select this and/or run the FVTerm application for the first time if your administrator has set this as the default.
This control captures keystrokes at a very low level, which enables full control over how a particular keystroke combination is mapped to host function keys. |
