Now it is time to configure your host-- Open the Service Settings Window to make the changes...in the Administration help, you can refer to the Service Settings Chapter for full information on how to make changes to the service settings.

Once the Service Settings Window is open in the administration window:

1.Click on the the definition initially named Host1 in the tree view (left pane)--this is the host you defined during installation. Note that if the current settings are correct for your host you can skip the following step.

2.Change the following settings on the host property sheet (as needed):

Host Address: to match your host's DNS name or numeric IP address

Emulation Protocol: to match your host's protocol (5250, 3270, VT100)

If TN3270, select the TN3270E level--try to match what was defined for your terminal emulator, but if not sure, try starting with "TN3270" which means "no extended modes"

Terminal Type-- you can usually leave the default selected when you change the Emulation Protocol, but if your emulator had something "unique" you may want to match it

Screen Rows-- for 5250, set at 25, and needed for some VT100 emulations (such as Windows Telnet, which assumes 25 lines)

Alternate Screen rows and columns-- if you don't know of any particular setting, such as 132 column displays, leave as is, otherwise change to match the alternate display size for your host

3.Click on the Apply button and confirm the changes
