If the FieldTemplate is set to a Calendar control or other that accepts a date as the entry, you can use this to set the expected and presented date format on the web page.
Default: * (asterisk)
The default value of a single asterisk will use the UIProject DateFormat setting.
Change the default to a specific formatting string only when the UIProject DateFormat doesn't match the format for this specific field.
